Title 1 is a federally funded program set in place to improve your child’s educational opportunities by helping them achieve success in their regular educational setting. Swan River School is a Title 1 school. In order to best serve students receiving support, Swan River School encourages parents/guardians/students and teachers to work as a team. As a school, we will:

  • Encourage students and parents by providing information about student progress
  • Provide parents/guardians reasonable access to teachers with an “open door” policy
  • Provide opportunities for parents to be involved in the school and their child’s classroom

As a parent/guardian, I will:

  • Encourage my child to attend school regularly and on time
  • Support my child’s learning by doing nightly reading/math with him/her
  • Have a quiet place to do homework
  • Communicate regularly with my child’s teacher
  • Help set a positive tone for learning

As a teacher, I will:

  • Help each student learn to their full potential
  • Provide student and parents with information on student progress
  • Show respect for each child and their family
  • Provide many opportunities for success
  • Focus on specific goals and concepts for each student

As a student, I will

  • Do my best
  • Ask questions when I’m not sure
  • Make good choices in class, participate and stay engaged
  • Show “Warrior Pride” in all that I do
